MELBOURNE, Dec 27 AAP - Police have appealed again for help to find a Victorian woman who went missing from a psychiatric clinic more than a week ago.

Dawn Wilson walked out of the clinic on Townsend Road, St Albans Park, south of Geelong, around 7.30pm on Thursday, December 18, and so far has not returned home or contacted relatives.

A police spokeswoman said family members were becoming increasingly concerned for Mrs Wilson's welfare because she had never gone missing before and her disappearance was out of character.

Mrs Wilson, 57, of Sunbury, was carrying only a small amount of money and has not accessed her bank accounts, nor used her car.

Police believe members of the public have seen Mrs Wilson without knowing she was missing. They urge people to report any sightings of the woman.

Investigators have been unable to confirm several sightings of a woman fitting Mrs Wilson's description at shops in Moorabool, north-west of Geelong, nor a similar report of a woman seen at a caravan park at Albury, over the NSW border to the north.

Mrs Wilson was last seen wearing a dark grey, long-sleeved cotton top, navy tracksuit pants with a white stripe down the side, white runners and a silver necklace with a pendant.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances about her disappearance.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
